Welcome to New York!

Emily

Caroline

Welcome to the capital of the world!!
My best friends from Wake, Emily and Caroline (aka Em and Caro) joined me in my home state for an very full weekend.
They drove down from Boston on Friday and joined me on Long Island for lunch at La Bottega in Roslyn and then to the big apple we went!

We got off the Long Island Rail Road and walked straight outside and there was the Empire State building right in front of us.
The last time Emily was in NYC was about 10 years ago.
So she was a bit shook and overwhelmed.
When she saw the Empire State Building, her facial expressions were priceless.
So cute!

We all experienced something new Friday night.
For me, it was going to the Empire State Building.
I have lived in NY my whole life and I have never been!
I don't know, I get very turned off by doing touristy things like visiting the Empire State Building or visiting Times Square.
But what my guests wanted to see and do, is what we did!
I am soooooo glad I decided to be a tourist like my friends.
I LOVED the Empire State Building.
It was an amazing experience.
The views were spectacular.
365 degree views of New York.
We waved to downtown, uptown, New Jersey and Long Island.
We lucked out with the weather being perfect and there was NO LINE to get up to the 86th floor!
We really lucked out.
I would 10/10 recommend going to see the 365 degree views, regardless if you are a tourist or not.

After we took 1,000 photos we made our way down to 42nd street, also known as Times Square.
Not to be a Debbie Downer, but I hate Times Square.
There are just too many people.
There is just too much going on there and I'm just not a fan.
But the tourist guide guides her tourists to whatever they want to see.
So we walked through Times Square towards Becco.
I went to Becco 3 weeks ago with Michelle and Giorgia.
You can read that blog post HERE.
And funny story, we sat at the same table I did last time!
Caro and I shoved our faces with the delicious homemade pasta, as seen on my Insta story (@tallandpreppy), and Em opted for a salad.
She was being healthy, unlike Caro and I.
We then continued to be healthy and went to Junior's Bakery in Times Square for cake!!

My friends than really experienced being real New Yorkers because we ran on 7th Ave and through Penn Station to catch the train.
13,000 steps later we made it back home.
We crashed.
