Sadie Hawkins Day

I've been looking at life in a different perspective recently, including looking into the mirror, as you can see by these photos. LOL
This is going to get really personal....For over 4 years now I have never really been truly smitten by a boy. I have liked certain boys here and there for a short time and then have realized, I need to focus on my studies so I can get into a really good college. I have always been so focused on school. I never really had time for boys. But now that second semester of senior year is here, I have relaxed a bit (I went to laser tag on a weeknight last week, I know very rebellious!!) and have really started to enjoy myself. And that means even just talking to boys in more than just a friendly way. For once in my life I have actually gone after a boy this time. I have texted him first and, in the spirit of leap year/Sadie Hawkins Day, I even asked him out on a date!!! I know, I'm going a little crazy. But I'm enjoying myself and making the most out of senior year!
I also have come to the realization that I can't care about what people at my school think. I have always been very confident and have never really cared about others opinions of me, but I have always been scarred of dating at my school because I go to such a small school. But, as Elsa would say, I'm just letting it all go without a care for what anyone thinks.

As you can see by my short sleeves, it is getting warmer here! It's the last day of February and it is 50 degrees and sunny! I'm not ready to wear shorts yet but I am certainly ready to ditch the wool scarves and sweaters.
I normally wouldn't wear a short sleeve shirt with a fur vest, but I think this outfit really works. I am playing with a lot of different proportions here. I also have a lot going on in this outfit, but it all works because I have on black, navy and white, the most neutral colors ever.

The "Love" Doctor

I hate myself for putting that as the title, but it's kinda a joke between my friends and I because I am helping to get some of my friends dates to prom.
Let me start off by saying, that I am no love or boy expert and nor do I have a lot of experience but I love helping my friends, so I do what I can do.
I got my friend Erin a date for junior prom. I helped my other friend text a guy and ask to be her prom date. And I texted a friend to ask him to go to prom with one of my friends.
These days all we are talking about is prom, prom and more prom. I love talking about it, don't get me wrong, and I love helping my friends with their "prom problems", but I don't understand how a friend could tell you that a guy wants to ask you to prom but doesn't know how to ask you and then that friend not to continue to help him out. This happened to me, and I'm sorry that isn't what a good friend does. Friends help each other out. So now I am kind of on my own and I am probably going to ask that guy to prom myself.
My other friends don't think they are going to go to prom because they don't think anyone is going to ask them. As their best friends I am not going to let that happen. How can you miss senior prom?! I, personally have been dreaming about it forever and I know everyone else has also. I know prom isn't that big of a deal but it's a big event that happens in high school that no one should miss out on! And lets be honest, when again are you going to get to wear a fancy dress and dance all night, except maybe at your wedding??

Enough about prom for today.... My outfit really works today because I am wearing pretty much all blue. Different shades of blue but they all go with my scarf which has navy blue in it and a pop of orange!

Scarf: orange and blue scarf from Paris

I Still Don't Have Power!

I still don't have power! You may be wondering... hmm Elisabeth, this doesn't make sense, here is a shadow behind you in the photos that appears to be coming from a light, how is that possible?
I have a generator.
My family got a full house generator after Hurricane Sandy, and this is our first time having to use it. The storm last night was crazy. Actually, a lot of schools in the surrounding area didn't have school today because the wind brought too many power lines and trees down. I had school today, obviously, or else I wouldn't have gotten dressed!  We are the only section in town that still doesn't have power.
The storm last night was maybe a good thing, because it brought warm weather today! So I was able to wear this adorable dress from H&M!
Tonight, I have another honor society event! Woo! I'm going to play laser tag as a fundraiser for National Honor Society! I am so excited! You may not know this but I am a really competitive person. I played sports as a kid: soccer, field hockey, tennis, softball, and now I play varsity badminton, but I am always up for any kind of sport or competitive activity like laser tag! I didn't go last year because I had a math test the next day, but my bestie, Michelle (she has been featured on Tall and Preppy many times before), and I have decided to really live up senior year and have fun! We are both in all the same honor societies so we always do everything together and she's also my best friend so theres that reason too. But we have done some pretty fun things this year that we, in the past, have given up to stay home and study.

Here is another one of my fall/winter to spring transitional outfits! Super easy and chic!

French Honor Society Induction

Bonjour!!
What an exciting night I had!
The power went out and I had my French Honor Society Induction ceremony. Woo!!
I am President of FHS at my school and gave a speech tonight about all the wonderful events we have had this year and the future ones to come. Our most significant event this year was that we made a banner that said "Liberté, égalité, solidarité, et fraternité," in big blue, white and red letters that we sent to a school in France after the France terrorist attacks earlier this year. The school loved it and accepted our kind words and prayers.
Tonight was a success and I have enjoyed being President these past two years so much!
And of course, the Parisians are known for being super chic so of course I had to look very Parisian and chic myself!

Do I Have Senioritis?

Hey!
Welcome back to my blog!!

Do I have senioritis? That's a very good question! And I am going to honestly answer and say that I do. I do not have a severe case of senioritis but I'm really feeling it and I am just so over high school.
For those of you who don't know senioritis is when all the seniors become kind of checked out and over school and just want to not have to be in high school anymore.
I love high school and all of my friends but I am just so tired of the work! I don't have any free periods or a lunch so from 8:08 am to 3:08 pm I am working in classes and it's exhausting. Don't worry mom, I am still keeping up with my studies and all my homework but I am just really exhausted of doing it!
My schedule has been crazy after school too! This whole week is crazy! I have Student Senate tonight and then right after that Social Studies Honor Society meeting. And then tomorrow night I have my French Honor Society induction, in which I have to make a speech at because I am Madame Presidente! And then Thursday night I have a National Honor Society event! I'm even more busy now than I was 1st semester!!
So my case of senioritis isn't severe but I'm sure it will be once I hear back from more of the colleges I applied to (which is in the next 2 weeks!! Eeeekkk!!) and when prom rolls around!

I wore my "controversal" outfit today! (If you don't know what I'm talking about, go read it here!) Yes, I'm guilty of being an outfit repeater but I can't help it!! I love most of the outfits I create and just want to rewear them!!

I'm Back!!!

Hey!
I'm back! I am home from sunny and warm Florida. I think I brought the warm weather back with me because it is like 50 degrees here! I don't remember the last time it was 50 degrees in February, except when I'm in Florida, of course!
I had a wonderful break and I hope that if you went away you had a great break also, and if you didn't go away I'm sorry! But spring break is coming, don't worry!
And yes I know I was in Florida and sitting on the beach and everything but I don't really tan! I am Italian, German and Greek but I don't really tan that well! But I think I got a little color on my chest and the front of my legs, but my back is white... which doesn't really work if I'm wearing a strapless prom dress!

I have been told that lighter colors make you look tanner, so I wore today a light pink shirt with the sleeves rolled so you could see some of my "tan." Cheetah, like I have always said is a neutral and at the same time a pattern, so I wore my favorite cheetah flats to add some pattern to my otherwise pretty neutral outfit, minus my sparkly shirt!

This outfit is a perfect transition outfit into spring as well! It is wintery enough with the puffer vest but summery enough with the pastel color of the shirt.

I did some damage....

I did some damage to my parent's bank account...... Oops!
We went to the outlets today and bought a lot of spring clothes! Except, back home is still freezing, so I can't really wear my new spring clothes just yet, but don't worry lots of cute new outfits coming out very soon!
I'm still enjoying the warmth but maybe not the sun, because if you zoom in close enough you can see my very bright pink chest.... The lady at J Crew made it very clear that my new gray shirt looks great with my sunburned chest.... Thanks!
(My brother in the back is photobombing, lol)

Farmer's Market

I went to a farmer's market today with my mom and brother and we bought some delicious produce!
After that we went down to the pool and just laid around all day because the weather here is beautiful. As beautiful as it is though, it is kind of chilly and to go down to the beach requires a light sweater or long sleeves. But I'm not complaining, back home it is frigid.

Here is my very causal and comfy warm weather outfit that I wore to the farmer's market this morning! I love how my sunglasses pull out the pink and orange in my shorts and they act as a pop of color. And I also love how the pom pom/fur keychain on my bag adds another pop of color and an unexpected twist to my outfit!

Strawberry Margarita

Hey guys!
Long time no talk!
As you can see I escaped the snow and cold! I am in Florida if you couldn't have guessed on my February break!

Tonight my family and I went out to dinner and look how perfectly my dress and the sunset match! My dress also matches the virgin strawberry margarita I had, only after my parents fooled me into thinking it was actually alcoholic......  They are very funny!

It is very causal in Florida and the restaurant we went to especially, so I didn't really wear a lot of accessories or do anything too fancy with my outfit. This is my favorite summer dress if you saw from my blog posts in August and on my Instagram! I just love the color and who doesn't love maxis??

Singing Valentine's

Hey!
Happy (almost) Valentine's Day!!

I wore this outfit to school yesterday and during chorus class we went around the school to different classrooms and sang! It was so much fun and we sounded great!

I think this outfit is not only good for school but for a date on Valentine's Day! It is causal but can be dressed up even more with a pair of black pumps and a fur vest! And let's be honest, I live in the northeast so on Valentine's Day I would not want to be wearing a dress, it's wayyyyyy too cold!! So I think this red sweater is a perfect option for Valentine's Day!!

Confidence

Hi!
Two posts in one day would you look at that! I can't believe I forgot to post last night...oops!
Sorry for all the indoor pictures recently but it is 25 degrees outside and super windy, so I am not taking pictures outside, but get ready because next week I will be taking lots of pictures outside because I will be in a warmer setting.... Any guesses of where I will be?

When I first bought this turtleneck I was kind of self conscious about it. I remember in elementary school this girl wore them all the time and everyone always made fun of her for wearing them. Not that I thought that was going to happen now, but I just hadn't had one in so long that I didn't know how to really wear it and I wasn't confident in it. If you aren't comfortable or confident in your clothes your whole demeanor changes and people can see that you aren't confident.
I was very uncomfortable in my turtleneck at first but now I realized that turtlenecks are a classic item that everyone should have in their wardrobe because they are so easy to throw on!
To accessorize a turtleneck, all you have to do is add some jewelry. Turtlenecks are pretty much like dresses in that they don't take that much thought into wearing. You just have to put some accessories on, like I did with my big pearl earrings and pink bracelet, and you are good to go! Or if you really don't want to you don't have to accessorize at all!

Selfie's in my room?

Hi!
Yes this is my room, I don't know why I've never featured it before but it is very pink and girly but I love it!
I thought this cute sweater would be perfect to feature in my room because the light pink in the little weenier dogs matches my pink walls! LOL
I can't believe I forgot to post last night! It was probably because I took a nap after school... oops!

Sweater: J Crew weenier dog sweater
Vest: Michael Kors white puffer vest
Jeans: American Eagle skinny jeans
Shoes: Tory Burch black riding boots
Earrings: Tiffany pearls
Necklace: silver circle monogrammed pendant
Bracelet: C Wonder initial "E" bracelet
