1. Top Gun- If you haven’t seen this movie yet, what are you waiting for? One of the best on screen movies I’ve seen in forever. I saw it two weekends ago and it was great! I cried throughout the whole movie because I never knew what was going to happen. I’ve never seen the first one, so you don’t have to watch it to enjoy the second one, but I heard the second one is even better if you saw the first one. Just something to consider. Check your local movie theaters to see if it’s still playing in your area (it probably is!)
2. NASCAR- “If you ain’t first, you’re last!” I had a really great time last Saturday at the Pocono Raceway! It was a really fun experience.
3. Persuasion- Jane Austen is my favorite author. I fell in love with Pride and Prejudice in high school when we read it in English class, and I never looked back. I ended up majoring in English after falling in love with more British literature my freshman and sophomore years at Wake Forest. On a whim, I turned on Persuasion on Netflix, last weekend and immediately fell in love. The story is beautiful, as are all of Jane Austen’s love stories. I don’t think I ever read Persuasion, but I am going to have to. The scenery, the costumes and the men in this movie are all beautiful.
4. Wide brim straw hat- I bought a wide brim straw hat while I was in Mexico. I wore it two weekends ago to Governor’s Island and again this past weekend at the racetrack. I have so many straw hats. I have one that is too nice to wear to the beach, and I have floppier straw hats for sunscreen and sand days. I think a straw hat with a black band looks so chic in the summer! I love wearing mine with a dress or skirt and tee.
