The Man Who Came to Dinner

Rehearsal

Show time!

What an amazing 4 years I have had in the theater department.
I was Miss Preen in The Man Who Came to Dinner Friday night and last night and it was my last time performing on the stage at my high school. Before The MWCD I was in Hello Dolly as Ermengarde, The School for Scandal as Mrs. Candour, The Sound of Music as a nun, The Tempest as Juno, Legally Blonde as Tara, a Delta Nu and the court stenographer, Pride and Prejudice as a ballroom dancer and finally Gypsy as a stage mother and a Christmas showgirl.
It was a bittersweet performance yesterday. I am so thankful for the theater department and all of the amazing friends and memories I have made. Theater will always stay close to my heart as I venture off into the "real world" and hopefully I will continue some kind of performing in college.
I am going to miss my friends from this department so much. I have had a wonderful time and have learned so much from Mr. Fessler and my peers over the years.
This theater department is like family to me and I am going to miss everyone so deeply.
It has been an amazing ride and words cannot describe how happy I have been these past 4 years.

Last night was a very emotional night for me and my friends. It still hasn't sunk in that last night was my last time on the stage at my high school and that I am graduating very shortly. I am still in shock that our performance was so great and the audience thought my character was funny. What a way to end my high school acting career! My character, Miss Preen, has a grand exit where she storms out of the house and tells Mr Whiteside off, and last night as I stormed off stage for the last time I got a big applause from the audience. It was a really nice way to end my performance.

All in all, I couldn't have asked for a better 4 years and for better memories. I have a life time of stories to tell because of this theater department. I wish all my friends the best of luck in their future endeavors. Thank you for making my time in the high school the best it could have been.

(And can we talk about how ugly my costume is?? OMG out of 4 years of costumes, this is the ugliest one I have ever had!!)
