A Fun, Safe and Socially Distant Activity to do in NYC

Alex and I were supposed to be visiting with Kate this past weekend, but she wasn’t feeling so hot, so she decided to stay safe and stay at home.

I still had tickets to Top of the Rock, so at 1pm on Saturday, Alex and I went to the 64th floor of 30 Rockefeller, aka top of the world, to see the gorgeous views of Manhattan.

We could see Lady Liberty, Central Park, and the whole city.

We had beautiful clear skies considering it rained for 3 days straight prior to our visit. It was also warm up there considering it was freezing on street level.

The Observatory Deck opened at 1pm, so we were the first group up there. Everyone wore their masks and we were easily able to distance ourselves. It wasn’t crowded or cramped, and it was a really nice experience.

New York is not dead, but parts of the city are struggling. We need New Yorkers to pretend to be tourists in their own home or we need tourists to come visit New York.

Governor Cuomo announced yesterday that the quarantine travel ban for travelers visiting New York, the two-week quarantine requirement, has been lifted.

According to the NY governor website, “travelers must get tested within three days prior to landing in New York, quarantine for at least three days upon arrival, and get a test on day four of arrival. If travelers receive a negative test on day four of quarantine, they may exit quarantine when they receive negative result.”

If you are healthy and symptom free and willing to take a test, then come visit NEW YORK. We were definitely hit the hardest, but we are strong and ready to welcome back the rest of the country into the best city in the world, as long as they are healthy and COVID free.

I’m celebrating the little things in life. To me-this is a little victory!
